Pizzeria Del- Dios (3210 E. Colonial Drive,Orlando Fl. 32803)

I have just visited Orlando with the kids this weekend and yes I visited a pizza spot that I visit everytime I go there.  Pizzeria Del-Dio is what I would call, as close to NY style pizza as you could get. I would have to say, its actually better than many actual NY pizza joints. The place is hidden from street view. Its you regular mom & pop looking pizza shop, but the pizza was out of this world!. The crust had a perfect texture. It had that crisp to it, and crumbled in your mouth. The sauce had just the right amount of sweetness to it. It wasn't acidy tasting as many pizza tomato sauces can be. The cheese was just the right amount. It melted in your mouth. No one taste overpowered any other taste. It all just blended in & tasted so fresh. Not only was the pizza delectable, but the spinach and cheese calzone was unreal. I saw the owner himself take out the dough on the spot and make the calzone from scratch. He used fresh spinach and mozzarella. It was obvious that this owner knew what he was doing & was highly experienced. Low & behold, I find out that he's from Brooklyn NY as well. Finding a place like this in Florida is a rare find. Not many pizzas can live up to New Yorkers pizza expectations. When I asked this owner why his business was so hidden away from view, he answered "It doesn't make a difference, because people still manage to find us regardless!". This just goes to show you,  how people still manage to find good pizza regardless of location. I Highly recommend this place if your ever in town. Disney is close by as well. Good Pizza & Good Fun. What more can you ask for!

The Pizza mans Daughter

Dearest Pizza Lovers, Welcome Aboard!

I am the daughter of a Pizza man. My father had brought a pizzeria in the famous Brooklyn , NY when I was only 6 years old. So you can say, that I grew up with a taste for fine pizza.  This was a family business. My brothers & I had practically grown up there. We ate there, worked there, and now bring our own children there to eat. It was my little hangout with friends after school.  It's funny, but my friends would always ask me how come I wasn't sick of pizza yet. To be honest with you, I don't know why. All I know is that till this day, I still love pizza. It is truly my favorite food of all. I wonder how I didn't end up looking like a pizza lol... I created this blog because of my love for pizza and for my endless search to always find the best pizza out there. Of coarse, along the way, I'm sure I'll encounter the worst ones as well. All I know is that I have been eating pizza my whole life and pretty frequently too. I guess you could sort of call me a conosseur of fine pizza or just "The Pizza man's daughter!". I will attempt to find the best pizza out there along my journey.I will be your Pizza Critic. Every state that I will travel to, I will be on my quest to find the perfect pizza. So when you travel in these places as I have, you will have a bit of advice on where to find that perfect slice, and where to steer clear away from. All I have left to say is: "Pizza owners all over the world "BEWARE!" because here comes the Pizza mans Daughter!
