Grande Pizza Co., 3373 Sheridan Street, Hollywood, Florida 33021

Hi to all again! I know its been a while since I've posted anything new. Things have been pretty busy lately. For future reference, I will be posting coupons to some of these great pizzerias for you to try as well. On to my latest visit to Grande Pizza co., which has just recently opened up in the Broward County area. I am told that there are actually 5 other locations.  I took my kids & some of their friends for some after-school dinner at Grande. I didn't try the round slice, which is what I normally do first. I opted for some sicilian slices instead. The pizza looked great when it got to the table. I was told its close to NY style pizza. That is hard to find out here in Florida. The pizza was drenched in cheese, which was my only concern. The texture of the dough was thick, but not as crispy as I would have liked it to have been. A bit soggy, you might say.  The sauce was good, but had it been a bit sweeter, it would have been perfect. It was seasoned right. And the cheese was good. It was just a bit too overpowering.
I did enjoy the pizza, but I believe that in due time, their pizza could definately use a bit of changes. A little tweaking wouldn't hurt a bit. I think it could become great once those changes are made. Considering that this was a new restaurant, I would have to say it was pretty good. Would  I go back?? Positively!. I do have to say the owners were quite friendly. They made you feel at home. I felt like I was back in Brooklyn once again. They were New Yorkers themselves. They understood my yearning for some great NY pizza. I also payed attention to the menu, which featured something great that I havent seen recently & that was 'Diet Pizza', with Whole wheat pizza crust & low fat cheese. Ill be sure to try that next time. The 'Crusty Cheese' also came highly recommended.  On my next visit, ill give them a try. As for my ratings of 1-10, I would rate the crust a 6 (needed to be less soggy and more crispy), the sauce a 7 (needed to be sweeter) and the cheese an 8 (less would have rated more).  Check out my blog for some coupons to Grande Pizza co.  So check out Grande Pizza next time your in town!
